the time is now
We share a commitment to transforming Wentworth Park into a truly accessible, unified open space that serves our entire community. With the NSW Government due to make a decision about the future of Wentworth Park later this year, it's vital that we speak up now, louder than ever. We urge them to return Wentworth Park to the community for recreational uses.

With the Greyhound Racing NSW lease due to expire by the end of 2027, we believe it's time to transform Wentworth Park into a unified open space.
Pyrmont and the surrounding areas are already among Australia's most densely populated suburbs, with mid-rise and high-rise apartment buildings throughout. Wentworth Park represents the area's only expansive green open space, making it a vital resource for residents and local schools.
Any future housing uplift – as needed in a housing crisis – must be matched with additional social infrastructure and open space to support healthy, liveable communities.
With a decision expected in the coming months, it's vital that we speak up now, louder than ever.

why say yes to open space
Wentworth Park should be returned to the community for recreational use – particularly vital in one of Australia's most densely populated areas.
The current layout disconnects the two public open spaces and restricts movement through Wentworth Park between Pyrmont, Glebe and Ultimo.
A unified park would provide 125,000 square metres of open space - similar size to Hyde Park - for the benefit of current and future residents and visitors.
Wentworth Park represents one of the inner city's few remaining green lungs.
Unified open space is essential to support planned growth during a housing crisis, including new housing already approved at Blackwattle Bay.
